1n 1999, African American leaders in Denver, Colorado formed Black Star Communications (BSC), a non-profit corporation organized to operate exclusively for civic, charitable, and educational purposes.
These leaders had a vision to develop a multimedia platform that disseminates information on issues that have an impact on people of color.
As a result, CoLours TV was created by BSC. The purpose of this network and website is to bridge the cultural divide by promoting programming that features positive images of ethnically diverse people.
CoLours TV was launched nationwide to 4 million homes in 2001 via satellite on Dish Network, channel 9407.

Today, we are in over 19 million television households which accounts for more than 47 million viewers.
CoLours TV is the only multi-media network that provides television programming for a multicultural and multi-ethnic America.
