Jett Edward song used in Obama campaign SHELBY - Born and raised in Cleveland County, musician Jett Edwards recently returned to the states to support the Barack Obama campaign and perform at Saturday's voting rall at Palmer Park. But by Tuesday morning, he'll be on his way back to Japan where he currently resides. "One day when I was sitting at home in Tokyo, I was watching CNN and (Sen. Obama) gave a speech about the war (in Iraq)," Edwards, a Kings Mountain native, said Monday. "I used parts from the speech in the song and it fit perfectly. The song touches on the lives changed in the war overseas. Edwards, a passionate supporter of the Illinois senator, said Obama, if elected, would put war into perspective. "Obama said, ‘We have to change the mindset that got us in the war,'" he said. "We have to realize that we have people's lives at stake here. Somebody has to be responsible for getting us there". Edwards is the CEO of Wisdom Entertainment Network and previously worked as A&R Director for Jackson Records.
From Japan, he said he'll be off to Europe then eventually back stateside to follow up promotion on his new album, "Made in America." But a new CD isn't the only thing Edwards is excited about. One of his songs, "Blood Oil," has recently been used as an Obama campaign song.
